What brought you to eating Paleo/clean?

After years of eating gluten free and dairy free I learned I had nodules on my thyroid and adrenal fatigue. A friend gave me Robb Wolf’s “Paleo Solution” and I immediately made the change. Within 4 days, I felt like a new person.

What has been the toughest part?

Cheese and bread cravings! And that my partner, Craig, isn’t paleo and keeps cookies, cereal, ice cream and rice cakes in the house…its a constant battle. I’m going to padlock his part of the pantry closed.

What has been the easiest part?

I love inventing delicious paleo recipes.

What is the most satisfying part?

So many rich and flavorful food like bacon, avocados, bone broth, butter.

What are you going to conquer this year?

Getting in the best shape of my life post-baby with yoga and pilates but forgetting what the scale says. I may never be a size 4 again and thats ok. Loving myself at any weight.

What is your best quality?

I will never give up becoming the person of my wildest dreams.

What was the happiest moment of your life?

When my son, Orion, was born last year.

One piece of advice to someone starting Paleo?

Focus on all the delicious foods you can eat, not the ones you can’t. Try your best but don’t beat yourself up when you fall off the bandwagon. Your relationship with food is ever changing and evolving.

Never leave the house without:

A huge bottle of ice water.

What is your exercise regime?

Walking most days with my baby, 3-4x/week alternating hot yoga and pilates, hiking and being in nature on weekends.

Snack of choice:

Bacon and green juice.

Beauty essential:

My homemade body butter made with shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, lavender, vetiver, geranium, magnesium flakes.

Skincare ritual:

Mostly about what I put in my body: drinking homemade green juice most days and eat lots of fat. Body brushing before showers and use homemade body butter everywhere.

Best advice from MOM:

Eat some salad everyday.

A must read book recommendation:

So many… "War of Art" by Steven Pressfield for anyone who creates things.
