Why is this The Art of Being a Woman?

We women underestimate our abilities. We second guess, we don’t stand up, we don’t think our voice counts, we don’t toot our own horns.

Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, cites the “number of women leaders in the corporate world tops out at 15-16%. That hasn’t changed since 2002.

“Only 13% of positions in the world’s parliaments are held by women. Out of 190 heads of state, only 9 are women (that’s just under 5%)."

“In the non-profit world it tops out at 20%.”

We wanted to push back on those stats and showcase some of our favorite women leaders. We are grateful and excited to share their inspiration, generosity, and leadership with you.

Our hope in running this giveaway is to spread inspiration for women everywhere, and to help the world move a little closer towards a meritocracy blind to gender.
