Episode 31: Professor Tim Noakes

Want to know more about Tim Noakes than just the Central Governor & hydration?  This is one of our longer podcasts, and while we hit the usual Noakes wickets, we also jump into some newer topics such as mental training, the power of belief, who the best coaches in the world are and my amateur beliefs about what it takes to run an ultra.

Tim talks about speed training, insulin resistance & sensitivity and how those affects athletes along with everyone else (including him), and a low carb diet.

In the second half of the interview (about 47:00) we start into fat adaptation, "You can't expect miracles in 6 weeks", how Tim came to hold the slightly contrarian belief system he has, and what he believes are the most important qualities for a student of medicine (and any human) to cultivate.

You can find Tim at the Real Meal Revolution website along with The Noakes Foundation, and he's on Twitter @ProfTimNoakes.  Enjoy!
